Le Butte di Lion ... the monument of the Battle of Waterloo where 300,000 men from 7 different countries fought one of the deadliest battles in one day...

The view from the top of the Butte di Lion... good thing I'm not afraid of heights! Actually, the view was spectacular and awesome! Took my breath away!

Moi, with a backdrop of Waterloo, Belgium...

Atop the Butte di Lion with the battlefields of Waterloo (now farmed fields) behind me...

The view down the stairs from the monument. Like I said... good thing I'm not afraid of heights! Eeeks! :-) It looks more scary now looking at the picture than it did in real life. It was too awesome to be bothered by the height of it! :-) Did I mention the view was spectacular?!!! The air was so cold and clear up there as well, and it was quite windy! Totally worth the couple hundred step climb!
