Paul brought home flowers for the ladies of the house as a little "thank you"! They brought a little "sunshine" to my room and brightened my day more than I ever thought flowers could!
Marta and I took a lovely walk/stroller ride to the lake while Susannah and Rebecca had some mother/daughter time. We fed the "quack-quacks" with "num-nums" and admired all the "Molly's" walking with their owners around the lake. :-) It was so much fun!
And we brought out a few American flags to mark the occasion!
The dogs always congregate around Marta's high chair at meal times! I wonder why?
Speaking of the dogs, here they are! From back left to front right, Penny (aka "Pooda", according to Marta). Penny is staying here while her "mother" recovers from knee replacement surgery. Penny has been my buddy these last few weeks, and sleeps in my room with me. :-) Molly and Maddie are the Petries' shih tzu's, and quite the characters! They are both sweet and fun, and also help fill my "dog void" while I am here. :-)
Jenna and I!
The magnificent Petrie garden!
Paul tending to our wonderful 4th of July campfire!
Rebecca looking sharp and ready for a day at the races! (or an evening around the campfire!)
First, we roasted sausages over the fire! Mmmmm! We also had "American" potato salad to celebrate.
And we brought out a few American flags to mark the occasion!
After the meal, it was time for MARSHMALLOWS! Mmmmmm again!
These marshmallows were only found in the "international" section of the grocery store... under "American" foods! Who knew?!
A delicious and fun night was had by all! Happy Independence Day to my American friends!
