It is hard to believe that one week ago at this time I was preparing to leave to home and fly here after a whirlwind week of decision-making and preparation! It has been a good week. I am doing well and am happy to be here. I am busy and tired, happy and well. The transition here has been very smooth for me (and hopefully the Petries too!). It is so wonderful to see some of my friends from 2 1/2 years and meet new ones as well. Belgium is as endearing the second time around as it was the first, the food just as good, and the people just as wonderful! Thank you for your prayers for me! The first week has not been without challenges, ups and downs, and stretching of the who I am, but it is all so good for me, and I know that I do my most growing and learning through challenges, and I also know this is where I'm meant to be right now, and I'm savoring it! :-)
The weather here has been pretty much everything you can think of except snow and ice, every day, several times throughout the day. I kind of enjoy the constantly changing scenery of the sky here. It can literally go from pouring rain to beautiful, clear skies and sunshine in about 15 minutes, and will do this multiple times in an hour even! :-)
Because of the shortness of this trip (~ 7 weeks), and the fact that I have been and probably will continue to be quite busy while here, I will probably not be sending out weekly e-mails like I did the first trip, however I will continue posting pictures and brief updates to my blog. If you have any questions or just want to say "hey", please do, as I do have e-mail access and enjoy hearing from ya'll and knowing how you're doing!!
