More Photos From Week #1

I did a lot of this the first week in Belgium. The transition to both the time and routine/work here has been wonderfully smooth and a whole lot less stressful than the first time I came. Although I am still fairly tired, I do not feel a whole lot different from what I've felt the last couple of months, as I was putting in rather crazy hours working on my thesis too! If you want something to pray for or are thinking about me though, you can pray that I would sleep better at night as it has been taking me quite awhile to fall asleep at night, even though I have been sleeping well once I get to sleep. I am tired when I get up in the morning, but thankfully once I am up and moving I forget that and am fine. :-)
I had the chance to run down to the wonderful Lake Genval to say "Bonjour". I did not have time to walk around the lake, as I loved to do, and am looking forward to getting to do that soon perhaps. It was awesome to see the lake again, and I was greeted by a beautiful rainbow in the fountain. It was also interesting to me how easy it was to find the route to the lake, even after 2 1/2 years!
Lake Genval
Only those who have been here will appreciate this, most likely. This is the narrow, dark, little tunnel we have to walk through to get to the lake (unless you go the other route). I was surprised and kind of sad to see that they will be closing the bridge for a few weeks. Guess I might have to take the other route...
This is the view outside my bedroom window. It became a bit of a "staple" during my last visit, and I always loved looking out before I went to bed, when I got up, and at various times during the day to see the different weather patterns. I also love hearing the bells chime throughout the day. Oh yes, and this is also the church steeple where a bunch of STORKS were seen perching the last time I was here.
But, just like that famous little tunnel, apparently they're also working on something in Genval, because when I went to look out another window's view, there was a HUGE crane invading my photo! Oh dear! :-)
